CAS partners with DepEd in MSUP 2024

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – Samar State University, through the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), led the 2024 Mathematics and Statistics Upgrading Program (MSUP) on April 12, 2024 at the SSU CAS Academic Building. The activity was conducted in partnership with the DepEd-Catbalogan City Division with the aim of sharpening the current pedagogical techniques of DepEd teachers in teaching Mathematics and Statistics. The training was attended by 30 participants from the DepEd-Catbalogan City Division.

Mr. Joel Sintos, SSU Mathematics faculty, served as the resource speaker of the first session who covered the topic on Graph Theory and its applications. In the forthcoming sessions, the seminar will further delve into topics such as Pre-calculus, Integral Calculus, Combinatorics and Probability, and Parametric Statistics using SPSS Software.

This extension activity, funded under SSU’s Samar Island Center for Adult Education and Technology Learning (SICAETL), is a three-session seminar-workshop which will continue on April 19 and May 9, 2024.
