Academic Grants & Scholarships
GUIDELINES ON STUDENT SCHOLARSHIP AND EDUCATIONAL/FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

General Guidelines:
1. The University Educational Assistance Program may fall into two categories:
a. Internally Funded Scholarship and Privileges
– University Sponsored Educational/Financial Assistance
b. Externally Funded Scholarship and Grants
– Government or Private Institution Sponsored Educational/Financial Assistance
2. MEMORANDUM OF AGREEMENT between SSU and other national, local and non-government agencies granting scholarship and financial programs shall be secured to clearly define the duties and responsibilities, and adhere to the General Guidelines on Student Scholarship and Educational/Financial Programs of the University.
3. All qualified bonafide and financially needy students who are in their 3rd, 4th, 5th or graduating year of study shall avail of the Student Assistance Fund for Education for Loan (SAFE Loan) to a full amount of Eight Thousand Pesos (Php 8,000.00) per semester depending on individual circumstances and requirements.
4. Internally Funded Scholarship and Privileges
a. Student shall only avail of one (1) University Sponsored Educational Assistance.
b. No student shall be allowed to have double-scholarship at the same time from both internal and external funded scholarship. But if there are those qualified for two scholarships, the student has the option to choose his/her preferred scholarship program.
c. A student who is beneficiary of internally funded educational/financial assistance shall be allowed to other externally funded grants but limited to one educational/financial assistance only whose financial benefit shall not exceed more than Three Thousand Pesos (Php 3,000.00).
5. Externally Funded Scholarship and Grants-In-Aid
a. Student shall only avail of one externally funded scholarship but shall also be entitled to receive other external grants with a financial benefit not to exceed the amount of Three Thousand Pesos (PhP 3,000.00).
b. A student who is a grantee of financial assistance amounting to more than Three Thousand Pesos (PhP 3,000.00) or a recipient of a grant that covers full tuition and miscellaneous fee is no longer allowed to avail other educational assistance from both
internal and external funding.
c. Student shall be limited to two (2) financial assistance only and has the option to choose his/her preferred educational assistance. However, no student shall be allowed to avail for two (2) grants-in-aid coming from the same agency.
REVISED UNIVERSITY FUNDED SCHOLARSHIP AND FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

1.0. ENTRANCE SCHOLARSHIP is categorized into two:
1.1 Scholastic Scholarship
1.2 Sports Scholarship
1.1 SCHOLASTIC SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship offered to incoming first year college students with Academic Honors upon graduation from Senior High School and will pursue any course offered by the University.
- Eligibility (University Code)
- Senior High School graduate with a General Weighted Average of 95% or higher from public/private senior high schools and vocational schools equivalent to senior high schools, with an enrolment of at least thirty graduates.
Coverage
1 year, provided that the scholar obtains a general weighted average of at least 1.75 or better during in the previous semester.
Retention
a. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum;
b. No grade lower than 2.0 in any subject/course taken
c. With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 1.75
d. No shifting of curriculum/program
Allowance/Stipend
Amount billed to the UniFAST for tuition and miscellaneous fees (RLE not included) under the RA 10931 will be granted in a form of allowance/stipend to qualified applicant.
Requirements
a. Certified True Copy of Certificate of Honor
b. Certified True Copy of Form 138
c. Certified True Copy of Certificate of Good Moral Character
d. Photocopy of Program of Study (Prospectus)
e. Accomplished Application Form
1.2 SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP
Scholarship offered to incoming first year college students who garnered medals during the Regional/National Palaro, upon graduation from Senior High School and will pursue any course offered by the University.
Eligibility (BOR Res. No. 58, s, 2016)
a. Athlete who is a DepEd Regional Medalist (Gold/Silver, Bronze) and/or National Palaro Athlete.
b. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum.
Coverage
1 year, provided that the scholar obtains a General Weighted Average of at least 2.5 or better in the previous semester and upon recommendation of the SSU Athletic Committee.
Retention
a. Must represent the university in the SCUAA Meet
b. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum;
c. Maintain at least 2.5 in all subjects/courses taken
d. Shifting of curriculum/program shall not be allowed
Allowance/Stipend
Amount billed to the UniFAST for tuition and miscellaneous fees (RLE not included) under the RA 10931 will be granted in a form of allowance/stipend to qualified applicant.

a. Letter of Recommendation
b. Certificate of Rating
c. Photocopy of Program of Study (Prospectus)
d. Accomplished Application Form
2.0 ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIP
Academic scholarship is awarded to continuing students who have demonstrated a high degree of scholastic aptitude and performance.
Eligibility
a. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum;
b. No grade lower than 2.0 in any subject/course taken
c. With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of at least 1.75
d. One semester residency in SSU
Coverage
Renewable every semester
Retention
a. No grade lower than 2.0 in any subject/course taken.
b. With a General Weighted Average (GWA) of atleast 1.75.
c. Any student who at the end of the semester or term, fails to meet the conditions prescribed above, shall be permanently be barred from applying the academic scholarship.
Allowance/Stipend
Amount billed to the UniFAST for tuition and miscellaneous fees (RLE not included) under the RA 10931 will be granted in a form of allowance/stipend to qualified applicant.
Requirements
a. Certified True Copy of Certificate of Rating
b. Copy of Program of Study (Prospectus)
c. Accomplished Application Form
3.0 ATHLETIC/VARSITY SCHOLARSHIP
Athletics Scholarships are granted to members of the University’s official varsity team.
Eligibility
a. Member of SSU Varsity Team and highly recommended by the SSU Athletic Committee
b. Enrolled in at least 12 units without grade deficiency. A graduating student may carry less than 12 units, but not less than 2 units in the current semester.
c. One semester residency in SSU.
Coverage
1 year, provided that the scholar obtains a passing grade or better in the previous semester and upon recommendation of the SSU Athletic Committee.
Retention
a. Enrolled in at least 12 units as prescribed in the approved curriculum;
b. Maintain passing grade in all subjects/courses taken
c. Any student who at the end of the semester or term, fails to meet the conditions prescribed above, shall be permanently be barred from applying the Athletic /varsity scholarship.
Allowance/Stipend
a. Medalist – 100% of amount billed to the UniFAST for tuition and miscellaneous fees.
b. Non-Medalist – 100% of tuition fee billed to UniFAST shall be granted in a form of allowance to qualified applicant.

4.0 SSU CULTURE AND THE ARTS SCHOLARSHIP
Students who have creative potentials and art inclinations may apply in any of the following:
4.1 Chorale Scholarship (BOR Res. 21 s. 2015)
4.2 Dance Troupe Scholarship (BOR Res. 21 s. 2015)
4.3 Artistic Excellence Scholarship
4.1 CHORALE SCHOLARSHIP
This scholarship is granted to deserving members of SSU Chorale in exchange for services during in-campus and off-campus activities/programs of the University.
Eligibility
a. Member of the SSU Chorale
b. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum/program
c. No failing grade in any subject/course taken
d. No record of violation of school policies/rules & regulations.
Coverage
Renewable every semester upon the recommendation of the Director, Sports Development and Cultural Arts Program.
Retention
a. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum/program
b. No failing grade in any subject/course taken
c. Member of SSU Chorale and highly recommended by the SSU Talent Committee
d. One semester residency in SSU
e. Any student who at the end of the semester or term, fails to meet the conditions prescribed above, shall be permanently be barred from applying the Chorale Scholarship.
Allowance/Stipend
Amount billed to the UniFAST for tuition and miscellaneous fees (RLE not included) under the RA 10931 will be granted in a form of allowance/stipend to qualified applicant.

4.2 DANCE TROUPE
This scholarship is granted to deserving members of SSU Dance Troupe in exchange for services during in-campus and off-campus activities/programs of the University.
Eligibility
a. Member of the SSU Dance Troupe
b. Carry a full semestral load as prescribed in the approved curriculum/program
c. No failing grade in any subject/course taken
d. No record of violation of school policies/rules & regulations
Coverage
Renewable every semester upon the recommendation of the Director, Sports
