Psych department recommends community pool of facilitators

CATBALOGAN – The psychology extension workers recommended the creation of psychoeducation facilitators for program continuity after a day of activity at Brgy. Ibol last June 26, 2018.

Psychoeducation may be general or highly specified and can be provided in a number of ways, though it is broadly steered by four main goals: transfer of information, medication and treatment support, training and support in self-help and self-care, and the provision of a safe place to vent emotional frustrations.

Extension, through its educational programs, plays a large part in creating community knowledge. Because knowledge is such a powerful element in the shaping process, educational programs that create knowledge are one of the most important activities in any community.

The talk on Marriage and Family was delivered by Pedro S. Cabrales, a social science faculty. Parenting Efficacy, Discipline & Child Rearing talk was given by Geolly L. Maglines, psychology faculty while Children’s Rights was delivered by another psychology faculty, Rachel R. Nacionales.

Thirty (30) participants attended composed of twenty (20) parents and ten (10) faculty facilitators.

Registration and preliminary activities started at 8:00 am followed by the formal start of the activity after the opening remarks delivered by Necasio Abuda, CAS Extension Coordinator.
