BRGY. IBOL’S YOUTH EMPOWERED THROUGH COMPUTER TRAINING

CATBALOGAN CITY – 14 out-of-school youth of Brgy. Ibol attended the Computer Literacy Education conducted in the locality by the faculty of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) Bachelor of Science in Information System (BSIS) and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) which paved way to a greater possibility of employment in the future for them.

The event started with lectures and demonstrations about the Parts of the Computer and How to Use MS Word tackled by the BSIS Faculty, Mr. Mark Angelo Bathan and Mrs. Maryjes Calades, respectively.

Afterwards, the participants were given the opportunity to experience how to use the computer and learn the basics of the MS Word by manipulating the resources available in the Ibol Elementary School and laptops provided by Samar State University (SSU).

The extension project is under the CAS program called “Pantaw Pankumunidad: Transforming Communities through Engaging Psychosocial, Socio-economic and Environmental and Sustainable Extension Services” which aims to assist in the realization of the socio-economic goals of the people in the adopted community, help maintain and strengthen the ecological balance of the community, and promote psychosocial well-being within the community.
