The fourth day of the Faculty In-House Seminar-Workshop on Academic Processes towards SSU Quality and Excellence was marked with the realization and commitment to make SSU a great university.  With the different lectures and countless insights from the numerous resource speakers, the faculty-attendees were able to revisit the basics of the teaching processes which were long forgotten or taken for granted.  The encouragements from both the internal and external speakers and evaluators are enough to rekindle the faculty’s love and passion for teaching.

Today started with usual registration of the participants facilitated by the members of the attendance committee.  The highlight of the day was the talk on “Learning and Development: Inputs for Reengineering and Academic Processes” by the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Felisa E. Gomba  The attendees were involved in the discussion as Meta cards were distributed and input from the audience was requested from time to time. Participants were also encouraged to raise some points; ask questions and interact with the speaker and the other participants.

A brief respite followed upon the conclusion of Dr. Gomba’s talk.  To set a happy atmosphere an intermission number, a comical skit was performed selected faculty members from CASPED.  Selected newly-hired SSU faculty were also asked to share their musings on the four-day activity.  After the distribution of the certificates and tokens, the University President delivered her closing remarks which formally marked the culmination of the seminar.
