Graduate School students of Samar State University took part in a webinar on Literature Review Writing last February 18, 2023, organized by the Dean of the Graduate School, Dr. Felisa E. Gomba.
The webinar, held via Zom, aimed to assist researchers in collecting timely and relevant research on their chosen topic and synthesizing it into a cohesive summary of existing knowledge in their field. Dr. Gomba highlighted that this would help prepare the researchers for making their own argument on a specific topic or for conducting their original research.
During the webinar, Ms. Maria Angie T. Suarez Del Real, the University Librarian, discussed Information Literacy and its Importance, emphasizing the role of literature reviews in research, while Dr. Ronald L. Orale gave his insights on Literature Review for Thesis/Dissertation and Journal Publication.
The webinar was attended by students currently enrolled in the Thesis and Dissertation Writing Course and provided them with an opportunity to gain knowledge and skills necessary for their research work. The event was deemed successful as participants expressed appreciation for the insights gained from the speakers.
