Region 8 Startup Consortium takes first step to lay groundwork for its establishment

CATBALOGAN CITY – In preparation for the establishment of the Region VIII Startup Consortium, a virtual meeting was conducted yesterday, February 6 (23), through the Regional Startup Enablers for Ecosystem Development (ReSEED) Program.

The ReSEED Program aims to strengthen the startup ecosystem in the regions by providing funding support to PCIEERD-funded Technology Business Incubators (TBIs) which will lead in the establishment and formalization of a Regional Startup Ecosystem Consortium.

This year, the ReSEED program was also opened to DOST Regional Offices, specifically to the remaining regions without startup consortia, thereby paving the way to the planning of Region 8’s startup consortium.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Samar State University – Technology Business Incubator-Local Alliance of Marine-based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT), Department of Science and Techology Region VIII (DOST R8), Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Offices, and the Department of Trade and Industry-Samar (DTI-Samar).
