Computer Engineering students, faculty introduce Robotics Programming to EVRSHS students

CATBALOGAN CITY – Through the initiative of the faculty and students of the Bachelor of Science in Computer Engineering (BSCpE) Program of Samar State University (SSU), participants from Eastern Visayas Regional Science High School (EVRSHS) learned the basics of Robotics Programming through a workshop conducted on November 9 (22) at the SSU-Research and Innovation Center Audio-Visual Room.

Alumni Relation Director Engr. Maricris Ediza and BSCpE Program Chair Engr. Maynard Dalemit served as speakers of the event tapping on the topics – Introduction to Programming Fundamentals and the Basic Fundamentals of Embedded Systems, respectively.

EVRSHS students were grouped by grade level for the hands-on activity where they manipulated led lights with the assistance of 3rd Year Computer Engineering students.

One of the highlights of the workshop was the real-time demonstration of the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines Student Edition (ICpEP.SE) – SSU Chapter President Irish Egie Arao’s invention named “Obstacle-Avoiding Car Robot (OACR).

Concluding the workshop was a Closing Remarks by the Extension Services Executive Director Engr. Mirador S. Labrador who congratulated the participants and organizers for the success of the two-day event.
