CATBALOGAN CITY – As part of Samar State University’s (SSU) goal to build a healthy university and organizational resilience, the Human Resource and Management Office (HRMO) started the ‘Wellness Breaks’ Program to provide the personnel of Administration and Finance an avenue to ‘distress, relax, socialize, and engage in health activities’ every Wednesday since February 2022.
The Administration and Finance Personnel, during the three-month pilot run of the program, will engage in breaks consisting of activities that they prefer and enjoy such as physical exercises, games, socialization, movie session, activities based on common interest.
Proposed by the HRM Officer Ms. Junelle Guerra, the program aims to foster a culture that promotes health and wellbeing and strengthen the sense of community and belongingness among the personnel.
This initiative was strengthened through BOR Resolution No. 79, s. 2021 or the University’s Mental Health Program.
Should a positive feedbacks on the post-evaluation be received after the pilot run, the University will continue this organization-mandated break.
