
CATBALOGAN CITY – After alert level in Catbalogan City has been downgraded to Level II and with the Safety Seal given by the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) and the ‘go’ signal from the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) Catbalogan , Samar State University (SSU) commenced its limited face-to-face (F2F) classes on March 1 (22) after two (2) years of remote instruction.
According to the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, SSU is currently on a two-week dry run.
Students from the SSU-Mercedes Campus, SSU-Paranas Campus, and SSU Main Campus specifically the College of Engineering (COEng’g), College of Education (CoEd), and College of Nursing and Health and Sciences (CONHS) were welcomed back to school through a Greeting Activity where they met the University Key Officials including the University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso who gave a welcome message.
The University hopes that the two-week pilot testing of limited F2F classes would be a success with the adherence to the health protocols inside the classrooms and all over the university premise.
