VSU benchmarks on SSU’s Ethics Review Board

CATBALOGAN CITY – The newly formed University Ethics Review Committee (UERC) members of Visayas State University (VSU) visited Samar State University (SSU) to benchmark on the best practices  of the SSU-Ethics Review Board (ERB) on February 18 (22) at the Research and Innovation Center (RIC).

On February 9 (22), the SSU-ERB Director – Dr. Rheajane Rosales, received a letter from the VSU-UERC Chair Janet Alexis A. De Los Santos requesting a benchmarking activity to guide them with their ‘endeavor to establish their own policies and guidelines’.

VSU-UERC Chair De Los Santos believed that the SSU-ERB will be able to help them in ensuring that the preparation and conduct of research protocols of all the VSU students and faculty are in accordance with the standards.

“Based on our assessment, we believe that SSU-ERB has already made its foundation and is already prepared for future accreditation by the Philippine Research Ethics Board (PHREB),” she stated in her letter of request.

Vice President for Research and Extension Services Dr. Ronald L. Orale and Executive Director for Research Dr. Sherrie Ann C. Labid welcomed the visitors for and on behalf of the University.
