CATBALOGAN CITY─Tagged as the first lady president of Samar State University (SSU) and the first lady administrator of the institution in one hundred and four years since 1912, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso is truly a torch bearer─ leading the way, living the truth, and sharing her light.
Before her appointment as President of the University, Dr. Cardoso took various roles and served as Director of the Income Generating Projects Board of Management, Head of Research and Development Center, Dean of College of Education, Director for Program Accreditation, Dean of College of Graduate Studies, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Faculty Regent and member of the Board of Trustees of the Personnel Association respectively.
She also extended works and services beyond the boundaries of the University serving as Team Leader, Accreditor, Consultant, Cluster Coordinator, and Member to various AACCUP accreditation works and member of the NEDA Regional Social Development Council.
From Kidapawan City to Catbalogan City, this lady president is multi-awarded with honors and recognitions befitting to a woman who pursues excellence in her field and in the academe. Her recent awards include the Administrators Honorific Award and World Excellence Award in Education as an Outstanding University President.
Yet to her three (3) empowered daughters Alexandra, Karen, and Stacey and only son Justin Alex, she is “The Best Mom” awardee.
And for SSU, since her appointment in 2016 as President, she is “The Most Outstanding Empowered Lady President” who brings the University to greater heights with her truth and with her light.
