CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University (SSU) welcomed the Women’s Month through a Zumba Dance Workout at the SSU Grounds on March 1 (22).
20 SSU personnel in their purple and violet attires joined the early morning workout led by the Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) students of the University.
University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Gina U. Españo, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Engr. Ma. Lourdes P. Amante, and the Gender and Development (GAD) Director Dr. Marlyn G. Lanzarrote also graced the event.
Director Lanzarrote, in her message, emphasized that the Women’s Month of March ‘endeavors to highlight the gains achieved for women and girls, assess actions towards gender equality, and look forward to steps that must be taken to ensure progress in empowering women.’
With that, SSU is one with the national government in giving all ‘Kababaihan’ the opportunity to take center stage as they stand up for their rights and take the active role as pioneers of change.
