CATBALOGAN CITY – The students, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders of Samar State University (SSU) were very fortunate to witness this year’s Hiraya Theatre Production’s original stage play Sina-DASAL brought to life at the Samar Provincial Covered Court last February 27.
Samar State University was one of the partners of the Hiraya Theatre Production which supported the event.
The University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, being a theater patron, showed her support by being present during the event together with her faculty, personnel, and students.
The director and playwright, Mr. Rommel “Chaps” Manansala, even commended SSU as one of the best audience they had.
The original story tackles different themes surrounding a typical Filipino family composed of Sarah, the mother of three children who is diagnosed with dementia; Amana, the eldest, a nurse; Levy, a married man who continuously holds a grudge against his estranged father Solomon; and, Aaron, the youngest sibling with an ambition to go abroad.
The production will continue moving from one place to another to perform and celebrate the message of family, love, forgiveness, and compassion which are all tackled in the play.
