Samar State University commits to provide and uphold service excellence in instruction, research, and extension in conformity to legal and statutory requirements for continual improvement and customer satisfaction. This is the quality policy of the university coined for the ISO certification and confirmed in the ISO 9001:2008 Stage 2 External Audit.

The audit started on March 14, 2017 and concluded today, March 17, 2017 at the Audio-Visual Center.

Auditors from the AJA Registrars, Inc.  namely; Ms. Quinie Anne P. Aguinaldo, Mr. Allan M. Carandang and Ms. Ella Riza N. Ajero roamed around the Main, Paranas, and Mercedes campuses to validate and cross validate documents, procedures and processes.

Audit findings were presented to the SSU organization in the closing meeting.

“Some of us might be slighted of our NCs (nonconformities), but we have to accept and do something about them. These are our eye openers for improvement. It is in learning, in accepting, and in doing something that we grow and improve,” buoyed up Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, university president, in her Words of Gratitude.

Hullabaloos of cheers and tears resounded the AVC after, the Team Leader, Ms. Aguinaldo’s announcement that SSU is recommended for ISO 9001:2008 certification upon completion of the recommendations for conformance within 30 days.

“That’s enough time for us…,” said Engr. Maria Lourdes Amante, Dean of the Office of Student Affairs and Services, with enthusiasm and optimism.
