SSU visited for Ocular Evaluation of the SIIM

CATBALOGAN CITY— In an aspiration to provide top-tier medical education and produce competent and compassionate doctors, Samar State University welcomed the Commission on Higher Education’s Technical Evaluators for Medicine on August 16-17 (23) for an Ocular Evaluation at the University’s Convention Center.

The proposed establishment of the Samar Island Institute of Medicine is SSU’s strategic move towards its preferred future: A world-class University; An enabler of empowered men and women; and one of the Top 200 Universities in Asia by 2040.

Serving as Technical Evaluators were Dr. Eleanor Galvez and Dr. Marivic Villamor who were joined by Ms. Shiela Fernandez Jalbuena, CHED-OPSD Senior Education Program Specialist and Mr. Emmanuel Antonio LIM, CHEDRO 8 Education Supervisor II. Also present virtually were Team Leader of the Evaluation Team and Technical Panel for Medicine Member Dr. Charlotte Chiong, Technical Evaluator Dr. Melinda Atienza, and Technical Panel for Medicine Chair Dr. Joselito F. Villaruz.

With a positive technical evaluation result, SSU is looking forward to SIIM’s opening as it dreams for a healthier communities in Samar, in the Philippines, and even in the world.
