CATBALOGAN CITY—In comparison to this year’s January Webometrics ranking, Samar State University (SSU) made it to 3 notches higher in the July ranking as it landed at Rank 50th among Philippine Higher Education Institutions as announced by Webometrics Ranking of World Universities via their website.
The Webometrics Ranking of World’s Universities is released by the Cybermetrics Lab, a research unit of the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Cientificas (CSIC), the largest public research agency in Spain and one of the first basic research institutions in Europe founded in 1939.
Ranked among more than 31,000 universities in 200 countries, SSU ranked 6411 in the world with a Visibility Rank (Web Contents Impact) at 11712, Openness Rank (Top Cited Researchers) at 6300, and Excellence Rank (Top Cited Papers) at 6158.
With SSU’s movement up the ladder in the Webometrics Ranking, SSU is both honored and challenged. And it shall remain steadfast in its pursuit towards its dreamed future as it put its best foot forward along promotion of web publication and open/electronic access initiatives for scientific publications and other academic materials.
