CHED RO8 Grants COPC to Five SSU Programs

CATBALOGAN CITY –  In a notable ceremony held at the Office of the University President, SSU-Main Campus in Catbalogan City, Samar, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Regional Director, Maximo C. Aljibe, personally presented the Certificates of Program Compliance (COPC) to five distinguished programs of Samar State University (SSU) on January 9 (24).

Among the honored programs, three hailed from the College of Education (CoEd) including the Bachelor of Secondary Education Majors in Social Studies, Mathematics, and Science. The other two programs receiving recognitions were from the College of Arts and Sciences and SSU-Paranas Campus, namely, Bachelor of Science in Information Systems and Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Filipino, respectively.

Present in the awarding of COPCs were President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, College of Education Acting Dean Dr. Laura B. Boller, its Quality Assurance Coordinator Mr. Jake Boy D. Carbonquillo, College of Arts & Sciences Dean Dr. Florabelle D. Patosa, its Associate Dean Dr. Maryjes G. Calades, BS Information System Program Chairman Ms. Monica Paculaba, QA Coordinator Dr. Jose Marlon Refuncion, and SSU-PC Head of Instruction Mr. Ferdinand Once (representing the SSU-PC Campus Director), and Program Chairperson Dr. Arnel Mabingnay.

The COPC is a prestigious recognition conferred upon specific degree programs offered by State Universities and Colleges that exhibit full compliance with CHED’s policies, standards, and guidelines. This acknowledgment reaffirms SSU’s commitment to providing quality education in line with the regulatory framework established by CHED.
