PICC, PASAY CITY—In a grand celebration to honor the Philippine Higher Education Institutions (PHEIs) for championing the academic sector, Samar State University is one of the Awardees in the Internationalization Champions of Nation-Building and Sustainability (ICONS) Awards 2023 by the Commission on Higher Education, yesterday, October 6 (23) held at the Philippine International Convention Center, Pasay City.
Specifically, the University was recognized for championing the international league tables of the World University Rankings for Innovation (for retaining the Top 1 spot in the world under the Fourth Industrial Revolution category) and Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World/Asia Rankings and Star Rating (for being rated with excellence with three stars).
Also, SSU students Joshua Rubion Cabutin and Christ A. Palmiano were ASEANWave Webxhibition and Festival Awardees under the Interactive Painting category following a showcase of creative and innovative talents in a cultural exhibition.
With these Awards, SSU, alongside CHED, shall continue to champion Internationalization by elevating its global reputation and producing global and future-proof student-citizens.
