CATBALOGAN CITY – In celebration of the World Teachers’ Day, the Samar State University-Personnel Association (SSU-PA) spearheaded the ‘Fun-Kumustahay ha PA’ on October 6 (22) at the SSU Gymnasium.
Wearing denim blue attire, teaching and non-teaching personnel were present during the event and they were serenaded and entertained with the students’ performances.
In her message, the University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, who was hailed as one of the 2022 Most Inspiring Teachers in the Philippines, emphasized the important the role of the teachers are.
“As teachers, we hold and nurture the most precious resources in the world – our students, and it is an honor to be part in molding our best resources. Continue to be light bearers, potters, and lighthouses’ to the students,” she stated.
As part of the celebration, the ceremonial lighting of the SSU Biowall was also held as the Christmas season kicks off.
Also gracing the event were the Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Engr. Ma. Lourdes P. Amante, Vice President for Administration and Finance and SSU PA Adviser Dr. Gina U. Españo, Vice President for Research and Extension Services Dr. Ronald L. Orale, SSU-PA President Hon. Jhonil Bajado, and the the immediate past President of the SSU- PA Engr. Esteban A. Malindog Jr.
