Statistics, Psychology juniors attend 8th Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony

CATBALOGAN CITY – Before their On-the-Job Training (OJT), the third year students of the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) taking up Bachelor of Science in Psychology (BSPsych) and Bachelor of Science in Statistics (BSS) became the highlight during the 8th Pinning and Candle Lighting Ceremony on June 9 (22) at the Samar State University (SSU) Convention Center.

The pinning and candle lighting ceremony mark a milestone in the OJT candidates’ commitment to lifelong learning and professionalism.

The ceremony was attended by the University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso who gave an inspirational message to the students.

Also present during the ceremony were the CAS Dean Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, CAS Associate Dean Dr. Maryjes Calades, BS Psychology OJT Coordinator Ms. Mary Jane Cinco, BS Statistics OJT Coordinator and Chair Ms. Emma Tenedero, BS Psychology Chair Dr. Mae Cañal, and other CAS faculty and personnel.

30 BS Statistics and 81 BS Psychology students were pinned that day and were believed to have achieved the required ‘character and competence’ to engage in an on-the-job training.
