SSU claims victory during the CHED Founding Anniversary, National Higher Education Day

PALO, LEYTE─  For its accomplishments in the board exam, academic grants, and other significant milestones, a total of six (6) awards were given to Samar State University (SSU) during the Commission on Higher Education’s 28th Founding Anniversary and 2nd National Higher Education Day Awarding Ceremony on May 20 (22) at Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) Mary Ngo Auditorium.

CHED Regional Office 8 spearheaded the ceremony dubbed as 2022 GAWAD CHEDRO VIII and SSU was one of the Higher Education Institution (HEI) awardees  having received certificates of recognition for 1) having been issued Certificates of Program Compliance for its eight (8) programs, 2) being granted Level 2 Proficiency in Quality Management by the PQA, 3) the University’s innovative Philippine Anti-Illegal Drug Strategy (PADS) in support of the Philippine Government’s initiative to strengthen the anti-illegal drug program for the youth, 4) the University’s contribution to the cause of the CHED-PASUC-EVHEI-PAPSAS Typhoon Agaton Relief Operations, 5) producing board placers in the January 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers – Elementary Level, and (6) producing the 10th Placer of the January 2022 Licensure Examination for Teachers – Elementary Level, in the name of Ms. Carmen Joy M. Barte.

In attendance were the key officials of the University including the SSU President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, Vice President for Research and Extension Services Dr. Ronald L. Orale, Vice President for Administration and Finance Dr. Gina U. Españo, and Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Engr. Ma. Lourdes P. Amante.

With these awards, the University will continue to claim victory for Quality Higher Education as it embraces CHED’s 2022 theme ‘Dekalidad na Edukasyon, Karapatan ng Mamamayan’.
