Back-to-Back CESTI In-House Review concluded a success

CATBALOGAN CITY – The Center for Engineering, Science and Technology Innovation (CESTI) held the University’s first Research In-House Review (IHR) activities for this year: In-House Review for IOB Proposals and Completed Research last February 14-15 and 17-18, respectively.

A total of 16 proposals for IOB-funding this year and 11 completed research in 2021 were presented. Such were evaluated by Dr. Ramil T. Uy from the Department of Science and Technology Region 8 (DOST VIII), Dr. Rolly G. Fuentes and Dr. Leni Dejeto-Yap from the University of the Philippines Visayas Tacloban College (UPVTC), and Engr. Mirador G. Labrador from the SSU – Office of the Executive Director for Extension Services.

Significant inputs were shared by the evaluators to help improve the proposals prior to implementation and also to the completed papers for publications in the future.

The center also recognized three best presenters for IOB Proposals and Completed Research, based on the evaluation results:

“Retrofitting Cooling Load of the College of Engineering Building in Samar State University”

1st RUNNER-UP:

DR. MARIFE M. LACABA

“Increasing Potato Rootcrops Yield through Introduction of New Rootcrops Varieties: A Participatory Approach”

2nd RUNNER UP:

MS. ANGELICA DAWN DEJARME

The In-House Review ended with a meeting, spearheaded by Engr. Jon Alvin L. Macariola, and participated-in by the faculty researchers and CESTI personnel to discuss various concerns regarding research processes.
