Call for papers to the 2017 national poverty conference

poverty banne4-1The 1st National Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development Conference or PovCon2017 is a gathering of research and extension workers from various organizations specifically the academe and the local government units (LGU) in the country. With a theme “Addressing Poverty Challenges Through Multidisciplinary Approaches and Collaborations,” the conference shall serve as platform for dialogue between agencies having direct capacity to respond to the challenges brought about by poverty. Positive developments or success stories by the LGUS in the Philippines in reducing or managing poverty shall be presented to inspire and educate participants. While the academe having one of its major task is to generate new knowledge, will share its analyses of the poverty situation in the country and provide LGUs with different ideas, strategies or approaches that work and does not work based on its researches. The academe can also showcase products/technologies which can be used to help in developing communities. The conference is also expected to give emphasis om fact-based analysis and solution formulation for a more efficient and effective programs and projects by the LGU in addressing poverty issues.

Everyone is invited to participate as paper presenter in oral or poster categories or as an interactor to many plenary and paper presentation sessions in the First National Conference on Poverty and Sustainable Development or PovCon2017. The sessions will be filled with very important topics that will surely provide everyone in attendance information geared towards attaining a better social condition for everyone.

To achieve the goals of disseminating concepts and success stories, the The PovCon2017 organizers encourages everyone to submit your 250 word paper abstracts in poverty and sustainable development specifically along the following tracks;

CONFERENCE TRACKS:

  1. Poverty and Economic Development
  2. Poverty and Agri-Fishery/Other Industry
  3. Poverty and Eco-Tourism
  4. Poverty Eradication Success Stories
  5. Poverty Eradication Issues
  6. Poverty and Geography, Environment and Resources
  7. Poverty and Armed-Conflict

To participate as paper presenter, submit your abstract using the provided format. Download the file from this link. The abstract is a single paragraph, without indentation summarizing the key points of the paper in not more than 250 words.  Ideally it has one sentence of introduction or rationale. This is followed with one sentence statement of objectives, usually the general objective only. The methodology usually takes one to two sentences and followed immediately with key results of the paper. The abstracts will be evaluated by a committee and will recommend to the conference chair shortlisted papers for oral and poster presentation. Once accepted, a notification letter will be sent to your email. Full paper needs to be submitted if it is chosen paper for oral contests.
