Iligan City – College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) professor, Nathalie Ann C. Alaga, took home the bacon when she was awarded “Best Paper Abstract” and “Best in Oral Presentation” for her research study, “Media Exposure for an Enhanced Communicative ESL Instruction,” during the 1st International Multidisciplinary Research Conference held in Iligan City, Lanao del Norte last April 26-28.

“I studied well my research paper and asked advices and tips from my colleagues who had the experience in presenting researches.  During the presentation, I answered all the queries of the panel of evaluators dauntlessly, and gave them the most portentous information about my study,” answered Alaga when asked how she achieved such awards.

The CAS Language and Humanities instructor, who is at the same time secretary of the CAS Faculty Association, further gave advice on research to her fellow educators, “Continue and strive doing research, although it’s like a roller coaster ride, because at the end of the ride, you will feel the challenge and excitement.  It would change us as educators since research is an answer to every problem.  Also, for us to be good researchers, we should remember that being a researcher requires inspiration and constant dedication on the thing that we are doing.”

The said international conference was sponsored by the Alliance of Teachers Innovation Education and Excellence, Inc., anchored on the theme, Bridging the Nations through Global Research.  With the keynote and plenary speakers, Dr. Safary Wa-Mbaleka, Prof. Josiah Gabriel Hunt and Prof. Ranjith Kingston Gladstone who are connected to the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies, the confab was participated by delegates coming from the different colleges and universities here and abroad.
