Taking full implementation of the K-12 Transition Program (CMO No. 3, Series 2016), the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) had released the list of approved scholarship nominees for the first batch, approving 30 nominees from Samar State University (SSU).

Of the 30 teaching and non-teaching personnel, 25 were from Main Campus, two from Mercedes Campus, and three from Paranas Campus.  The nominees will be given financial aid in taking or completing their master’s and doctor’s degrees.  Nominees with academic requirements will be entitled to tuition and other fees, book allowance, transportation allowance, living allowance, to name a few.  These will be subject to certain terms or conditions.  Those who are writing or are to write their theses or dissertations will receive only a thesis grant of PhP 50,000.

“The scholarship is a great help to me, to us, as it can help us financially while pursuing our studies,” said Engr. Aprille Ellen Quebeda, a nominee for thesis grant.

In return, nominees will need to finish their studies in time and will render service of the same time length, as stipulated on their contracts. They will be attending an orientation on June 15, 2016 at St. Paul School of Professional Studies, Palo, Leyte.
