CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University – Ethics Review Board (SSU-ERB) formerly known as the Institutional Research Ethics Review Committee (IRERC) invited its committee members for the Presentation and Critiquing of the SSU Ethics Review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) on August 18 (21) at the SSU Convention Center.
According to Dr. Ronald L. Orale, the Vice President for Research and Extension, there is a need to correct and revise the ten (10) SOPs as the ERB is aiming to be accredited by the Philippine Health Research Ethics Board (PHREB), the national policy making body in health research ethics in the country.
“The University’s ERB aims to be the 1st PHREB accredited university in the region. That is the reason why we are here because if we want to be PHREB accredited, we have to improve our operations”, stated the SSU-ERB Director, Dr. Rheajane A. Rosales.
Members were tasked to create forms that will then be enrolled in the University Document Controller (UDC) as part of the University SOPs.
The presentation, critiquing, and crafting of the forms continued until August 20 (21).
