SSU’s flight to ISO 9001:2015 takes off

SSU, Catbalogan City – Samar State University is now on its way to becoming ISO 9001:2015 certified as the ISO auditors visited the university for Stage 1 Audit today, October 8.

“The ISO 9001:2015 Stage 1 External Audit focuses on the adequacy of document on the processes undertaken by an agency. It is more on the implementation, establishment, and monitoring of the different processes,” stated Dr. Lanie Pacadaljen, Director for Quality Assurance.

Raquel Digo, the team leader of the auditors from AJA Registrars, presented the audit team which includes Anna Manlangit during the opening meeting held at the Audio-visual Center (AVC).

“We will be fair and professional,” emphasized Digo.

After the meeting, a site visit at the external campuses (Basey Campus, Paranas Campus, and Mercedes Campus) immediately followed.

When asked how confident she was on the results of the Stage 1 Audit, Dr. Pacadaljen answered that if there would be non-conformities seen in the documents, she was poised that the university would be able to address these immediately.

“In the soonest possible time, I am confident that we will be able to address them because the university is aiming for an ISO 9001:2015 certification,” said Dr. Pacadaljen.

The audit will continue until tomorrow, October 9, which will be followed with a closing program at the AVC in the afternoon.
