SSU Hosts CPPSTEA’s 50th Year
October 13, 2023
CATBALOGAN CITY─After 4 years of hiatus due to the pandemic, Samar State University hosts the grand celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the Catbalogan Public and Private Schools Teachers and Employees Association (CPPSTEA) today, October 13, 2023 at the University grounds under the theme “Building an Upstanding Legacy in the Academe for a World that is Adaptable and Nurturing.”
To bring up a festive mood in the celebration and as the University champions internationalization, the ASEAN theme was chosen as the motif by the SSU Personnel Association, the organizing committee, for the cultural performances of the 10 districts of the City Schools Division of Catbalogan, Samar National School, Eastern Visayas Regional Science High School and private institutions, namely: Saint Mary’s College of Catbalogan, and Samar Colleges, Inc.
Specifically, the participating schools and districts will showcase their talents through the cultural dances of the countries they represent including Thailand, Brunei Darrusalam, Malaysia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Cambodia, Singapore, Indonesia, and Laos.
The Teacher’s Day celebration of the CPPSTEA is held annually as a tribute to academicians as well as to non-teaching personnel in the schools of Catbalogan City.
Gracing the occasion as the Guest Speaker was the Governor of the Province of Samar, Hon. Sharee Ann T. Tan. Also present in the event to say his felicitations was Catbalogan’s City Mayor, Hon. Dexter M. Uy.
As the celebration becomes more joyous, special surprises await for teacher-attendees and members of the CPPSTEA. #JBaclay
