CATBALOGAN CITY─ In a significant step towards promoting collaboration and advancing mutual goals, a benchmarking activity and a signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between Samar State University (SSU) and Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC) were conducted earlier today, June 30 (23) at the SSU Convention Center.
Organized by the Office of the International Affairs headed by Dr. Elmer A. Irene, the event was attended by OMSC President Dr. Elbert C. Edaniol, Executive Assistant Dr. Melchor P. Dioso, Director for External Linkages and Internationalization Dr. Harold Q. Bautista, Faculty Trustee Dr. Rommel C. Sanqui, Presidential Management Staff Mr. Jayson Montefrio, and Close-In-Aide Mr. Aldwin A. Obligar.
Also present were SSU President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa E. Gomba, Vice President for Research & Extension Services Engr. Mirador G. Labrador, COED Dean Dr. Laura B. Boller, CAS Dean Dr. Florabelle B. Patosa, CIT Dean Mr. Ronnie T. Velasco, and International Student Exchange Coordinator Mr. Pedro S. Cabrales.
During the event, both Universities exchange best practices and innovative strategies and shared experiences, challenges, and lessons learned, fostering an atmosphere of open dialogue and collaboration.
Dr. Edaniol expressed his gratitude to SSU, stating, “With this partnership, we commit to join seminars or conferences hosted by your University. We also request (from you) to back us up when we need speakers/experts from you…We are grateful to SSU for accepting our eagerness to join you, to link with you.”
Dr. Cardoso welcomes OMSC, remarking, “On behalf of SSU, thank you for trusting and collaborating with us. This partnership is an embodiment of our good relationship and mutual cooperation along our mandates. This partnership entails inclusive growth for both Institutions.”
With the two Universities joining for a collaborative journey, both aspire to create positive impacts within and outside their Institutions.
