Described as lady-like, religious, and diplomatic, the Vice President for Student Affairs and Services Engr. Ma. Lourdes P. Amante has another distinct characteristic, a talent hidden to all but few. She is a creative artist, and a poet at that.
Engr. Amante has been writing “siday” (a Waray-waray term for poem) since she could remember.
“Writing poems make me calm. It gives me comfort expressing myself creatively,” Engr. Amante said in a conversation.
Admitting that her time is occupied by work and attending to nephews and nieces schooling on which some have already graduated and are professionals, her poem creation has become infrequent.
However, with an inner drive to unleash her imagination and creativity, Engr. Amante looks forward to weekends and holidays so she can dirty blank papers with the ink of her ballpoint.
This Secret Poet just #JUANACelebrate women and their aesthetic eloquence of expression.
