SSU-SWDS hosts three-day Career Seminar for graduating students

CATBALOGAN CITY – Samar State University-Student Welfare and Development Services (SSU-SWDS) continued its annual activity for graduating students as they hosted a three-day Career Seminar for Batch 2022 on May 5, 6, and 17 (22).

The three-day seminar primarily aimed to introduce new career opportunities and provide know-hows towards achieving career success.

The first wave of the workshop tapped on the topics on Basic Labor Rights, Trend in the Job Market, and Personality Traits that Will Get You Hired which was discussed by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Samar Provincial Head Engr. Aleksei Ceasar D. Abellar, Civil Service Commission Caraga Region Human Research Specialist II Mr. Dan Jave Dumpa, and MC-Credit Solutions LLC HR and Operations Director Ms. Tessa W. Mercado, respectively.

Students were taught how to increase the chance of landing the ‘dream job’ by the University Publications Director Dr. Redentor S. Palencia while the AB Communication Academic Supervisor of the University of San Agustin Ms. Rhoda Campillan tackled the topic on How to Create an Ideal Resume and Things to Prepare before the Interview on the second series of the online seminar.

On the last day of the seminar, the graduating students experienced a face-to-face mock interview where they were required to bring with them their application letter and resume.

An overwhelming number of 1270 graduating students participated throughout the three-day activity.
