PCW endorses SAGWAN’s GPB for FY 2025

Catbalogan City, PHILIPPINES—Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) has officially endorsed the Gender and Development (GAD) Plan and Budget (GPB) of SAGWAN for the Fiscal Year (FY) 2025.

The endorsement was granted after SAGWAN successfully complied with all the required criteria set by the PCW, including the allocation of at least five percent (5%) of its total budget to GAD initiatives and the timely submission of all requested revisions.

In a statement from the PCW, the Commission commended SAGWAN for demonstrating strong commitment to gender equality and for ensuring that its 2025 GAD Plan supports inclusive, transformative, and gender-responsive programs and projects. The GPB endorsement confirms that SAGWAN is aligned with national GAD priorities and upholds the principles of the Magna Carta of Women (RA 9710).

SAGWAN’s 2025 GAD Plan includes programs focused on women empowerment, capacity-building on gender sensitivity, mental health support, community outreach, and institutional partnerships aimed at promoting inclusive development in Samar.

“We are proud to receive this endorsement. It is a testament to our continuous effort to promote gender fairness and inclusivity in all aspects of our work,” SAGWAN Director Charmaine Quiña stated.

With the GPB now endorsed, SAGWAN looks forward to full implementation of its 2025 programs in collaboration with local stakeholders and gender advocates.
