SSU administers Statistics training for faculty, student researchers

CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – Samar State University, through the Office of the Executive Director for Research led by Dr. Sherrie Ann C. Labid, spearheads the Statistics Training-Workshop (Series 1) for Faculty and Student Researchers. The ongoing two-day capability-building activity, slated from April 11 to 12, 2024, is being attended by 54 faculty and 55 students from SSU’s main and branch campuses.

Currently taking place at the SSU Convention Center, the activity seeks to equip participants with crucial statistical expertise needed to carry out research studies.

Dr. Norberto E. Milla, an associate professor and at the same time the head of Visayas State University Statistics Department, serves as the resource person. Yesterday, 11 April 2024, Dr. Milla lectured and led workshops on various key topics, including Jeffrey’s Amazing Statistical Program (JASP) and Jamovi, Multiple Linear Regression Analysis, and Moderation and Mediation Analysis.

The training-workshop is set to culminate today with topics and workshops on Structural Equation Modelling (SEM), and Logistics Regression Analysis.

Following this two-day activity, the organizing office intends to launch another series of trainings centered on research publications.
