CATBALOGAN CITY – The National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA) Regional Office 8, headed by Regional Director Meylene C. Rosales embarked on a significant endeavor by including Samar State University (SSU) in their itinerary during the Stakeholders’ Knowledge Caravan for the Eastern Visayas Regional Development Plan (EV RDP) 2023-2028 through a visit to SSU’s Research and Innovation Center (RIC) on January 10 (24).
The Stakeholders’ Knowledge Caravan aimed to familiarize stakeholders at the grassroots level with the plan and solicit tangible commitments from various entities, aligning efforts towards the shared goal of fostering a resilient and prosperous Eastern Visayas. It also aimed to engage with local chief executives, university presidents, provincial directors, and other stakeholders throughout 2024 for the same purpose.
This learning visit to SSU’s RIC proves significant in understanding the institution’s innovative initiatives as the knowledge gained from the interaction will be instrumental in formulating strategies and policy recommendations to fortify the innovation environment within Region VIII.
