Zhengzhou, China— With a perfect 5-0 record, Samar State University (SSU) Dexterous Deers conclude the Intercontinental Collegiate Basketball Tournament in Zhengzhou, China as Champions as they outgun Sias University Team 1 106-95 in Game 5 yesterday, September 22 (23).
Instrumental to leading the varsity team to that straight win, Sports and Development, Culture and the Arts Program (SDCAP) Director and Team Coach Dr. Randy M. Pacadaljen explained the system of elimination.
“It is a single round robin system. Teams are ranked according to number of wins. And we won all 5 games,” Dr. Pacadaljen said with pride.
University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso also couldn’t contain her joy as she posted her congratulatory message in social media.
“Congratulations, SSU Deers on your impressive victory! Your hardwork, teamwork, and dedication paid off! You are returning from Sias University, China undefeated! You have the true spirit of Champions,” she expressed.
Ranking second is the Panpacific University and Sias University Team 1 as 3rd placer based on Points Table shared by International Affairs Director Dr. Elmer A. Irene.
Basking now in a well-deserved glory are SSU Dexterous Deers and Champions Edrian Babalcon, Philip Kenneth Ballena, Dixter Basilan, Ryan Sebas Millen Borja, Mark Jemar Latoja, Khian Radaza, Ric Janri Rodriguez, Albert Joshua Tolipas, and Rogelio Tolipas, Jr.
