TACLOBAN CITY─ In support to the ASEAN motto of “One Vision, One Identity, One Community”, Samar State University (SSU) in Malaysian costumes joined the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region VIII in its Regional ASEAN Month 2023 Celebration through a Motorcade and ASEAN Infosesssion on Transnational Education on August 14 (23) at Eastern Visayas State University, Tacloban City.
Joined by other Higher Education Institutions, the event spotlighted the Keynote Address of CHED Commissioner and National Chairman of Volunteer Individuals for Peace (VIP), Inc., Hon. Ronald L. Adamat, Ph.D, P.D.
“To express solidarity with our ASEAN neighbors, let the spirit of unity remain vis a vis the ASEAN strong commitment to promote peace, understanding, cooperation, and economic growth for all member nation states,” emphasized Dr. Adamat.
Also highlighted in the occasion were sessions on 1) CHOOSE FRANCE: Strengthening cooperation between France and the Philippine in higher education by Mr. Adam Folléas, Officer for Higher Education & Linguistics at the French embassy to the Philippines and to Micronesia; and 2) FLEXIBLE LEARNING ECOSYSTEM: The Future is Where We Start! by the Associate Vice-President for Sales of C&E ALS, Mr. Rene Mupas.
More activities are lined up by CHED RO 8 including the ASEAN Commemorative Contests, 2nd Internationalization Conference: Live Experience on Faculty and Student Mobility, and ASEAN Festival of Talents and Closing Ceremony. And SSU commits to be one with the Commission and the nation as the ASEAN Month celebration continues.
