CATBALOGAN CITY─ As an agreement for mutual cooperation along UN renewable energy project and academic and research cooperation, Samar State University (SSU) and Vision College of Jeonju (JVC), South Korea signed a Memorandum of Understanding on May 3 (23) at Costa Brava Hotel in San Jose Tacloban City.
JVC is an educational institution that specializes in and offers courses along energy conversion technology and system operation and maintenance, blended IT and mechanical technologies, and cutting edge IT areas.
Attended by officials and staff from JVC including Park Hyo Sik, Kim Jee Hong, Kwak Sungwoon, and Lye Se Yeong, officials from SSU, namely President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, Dr. Elmer A. Irene, Dr. Vivian L. Moya, Engr. Jonas Mahinay, and representative from DOST, particularly Research Specialist Robert Cesar Morta, the MOU signing formalized the cooperation between the two parties on educational exchanges relative to electrical control technologies and other related engineering fields, electrification activities, and project involvement.
With the take-off of the partnership, delegates from JVC are set to conduct a site inspection in Tinabanan, Marabut Samar─ the recipient of the 5-year incubating project for Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and a joint project between and among JVC, SSU, and SAMELCO II.
