CATBALOGAN CITY─ Representing a successful Technology and Innovation Support Center (TISC) host institution, Samar State University Director for Innovation and Technology Support Office Dr. Vivian L. Moya attended the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Regional Meeting on Strengthening the ASEAN Regional TISC Network on March 27-28 (23) at Surabaya, Indonesia.
Dr. Moya raised the SSU Banner and the Philippine Flag being the only ITSO Manager in the country who was given the opportunity to share the University’s best practices. She, specifically shared SSU-IPTBDO’s successful advocacy campaign of IP services titled From Zero to Hero: How SSU Transformed 6 Philippine Provinces into IP-Informed Communities.
Organized by WIPO and the Directorate General of Intellectual Property (DGIP), Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, with the support of the Government of Japan, the meeting was directed to discuss new advances in WIPO’s assistance for TISCs and related national and regional networks, IPR Action Plan 2016–2024 of the ASEAN Working Group on Intellectual Property, and the recent changes to national TISC networks in ASEAN member countries.
With Dr. Moya’s international participation, SSU pledges to collaborate in promoting services, initiatives, and programs for intellectual property, development, and innovation.
