SSU partners for updating Catbalogan’s BDPs

CATBALOGAN CITYSamar State University through the Samar Island Center for Good and Local Governance and the Environmental Sustainability Research and Development Center conducted a Training-Workshop on the Formulation of the Barangay Development Plan of Barangays in Catbalogan on December 10 (22).

In partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government and Local Government Unit of Catbalogan City, a total of 29 Barangays with 290 Barangay Officials for the 1st Batch and 14 Barangays with 140 Barangay Officials for the 2nd Batch were in attendance.

The activity primarily aimed to help the City of Catbalogan come up with Barangay Development Plans for the finalization of the City’s Comprehensive Land Use Plan (CLUP) 2023-2032 and Comprehensive Development Plan (CDP) 2023-2028 as well as the city’s Climate and Disaster Risk Assessment (CDRA).

“The technical assistance that we provide is intended to give quality extension services to the people in the locality of Samar so we can help in the attainment of the planned programs and in building progressive communities,” stated Dr. Ronald L. Orale, Vice President for Research and Extension Services.

The training-workshop will continue until Wednesday, December 21 (22) as it caters the 3rd and last Batch of audience-beneficiaries.
