SSU students clinch championship of SPSPS’ “Dance Dayo 2022:Step Up”

TACLOBAN CITY – Student-dancers of Samar State University (SSU) named as ‘Studyancers’ bagged the championship during the Dance Dayo 2022: Step Up, a regional dance competition organized by Saint Paul School of Professional Studies (SPSPS) at Mary Ngo Auditorium on December 9 (22).

“Dance Dayo” competition is one of the annual events of SPSPS which aims to showcase the talents of dance troupes in the region.

‘Studyancers’ members Cydrec Sian Honrales, Christian Aga, Mark Anthony Babon, John Delon Diocton, Marbem Abel Ty, Jose Angelo, Jonathan Sapetin, Jeffrey Nablo, Janin Alcala, and Xiaoxi Mil Llacer were the last to perform but ‘garnered the loudest cheers from the crowd’ according to The Paulinian Scribe, SPSPS’ official student publication.

The students were awarded a trophy and a cash worth P10,000.00.

In an FB post, one of the dancers expressed his gratitude on behalf of the team to SSU instructors, Mr. Andres B. Sequito and Mr. Mark Angelo S. Bathan, who served as their coaches.

Placing second was Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) – Tanauan Campus, followed by the Leyte Normal University (LNU) and St. Therese Educational Foundation, Inc. (STEFTI) who shared the third spot.
