SSU-IPTBDO trains R8 on IP, product commercialization

CATBALOGAN CITY – In order to encourage researchers to engage in commercialization of their generated intellectual property, the Samar State University-Intellectual Property and Technology Business Development Office (SSU-IPTBDO) trained 46 participants from Region 8 on December 1 (22) via a hybrid

modality.

The Regional Intellectual Property and Product Commercialization Seminar Workshop is a training reference for IP Management and Technology Commercialization, specifically aimed at training faculty and staff to ‘legally manage and commercialize their owned technologies’.

Assisting and training the participants were SSU-Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SSU-SIGISDAC) Director Engr. Raven S. Tabiongan, IPOPHL-ITSO Network Program Manager Prof. Adrian H. Sablan, SSU TBI-LAMBAT Center Manager Ms. Ma. Teresa H. Enalisan II, IPTBDO-Technology Transfer Head Engr. Jan Floro S. Bautista, and IPTBDO-ITSO Technical Expert Engr. Nikko Ardel P. Floretes.

Commercialization Strategies: Startup, Spin-Off, Outright Sale, TBI & Licensing, Intellectual Property Licensing and Commercialization, Setting-up your Idea: Idea Validation, Intellectual Property and Technology Assessment Protocol and Strategies, and Introduction to IP and Technology Commercialization were among the topics discussed.

The training lasted on December 2 (22).
