CATBALOGAN CITY─Samar State University (SSU) President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, attended and participated in the University Presidents Forum (UPF) 2022 at the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 1-3 (22).
Hosted by UTM, the 12th UTM-UPF2022 bore the theme“Reshaping Ideas and Practices in International Higher Education: Towards Sustainable Development for the World and Humanity.”
The event aimed to investigate and disseminate new concepts and best practices to encourage the restructuring of international higher education in and beyond Asia toward sustainable development and craft creative answers to problems that may affect the globe and mankind in the future.
Attended by University Leaders around the globe, Dr. Cardoso joined the congregation of higher education in listening to a wide range of standpoints from the topics: Global Research Trends for Sustainable Development Goals Empowerment; The Role of University Leadership in Driving Societal Impact and Protecting the Sovereignty of Higher Education; and Creating Synergies through International Partnerships and Cooperation in Higher Education.
Dr. Elmer A. Irene, SSU’s Director for International Affairs, joined Dr. Cardoso at the forum.
