CATBALOGAN CITY –Pakabuhi.ph and Meatify gain the sound judgement of the panellists as they were hailed winners of the Startup Pitching Competition 2022 today, July 14 (22) at the SSU 3rd Floor Convention Center.
Pakabuhi.ph is a team composed of junior high school students from Eastern Visayas Regional Science High School (EVRSHS) while Meatify are tertiary students from Samar State University (SSU). Both teams will receive a monetary prize amounting to Php10,000.00 each while other participants will receive Php2,000.00 as consolation prize.
IPOPHIL-Technology Transfer Innovation Bureau Assistant Chief Prof. Adrian H. Sablan, Catbalogan City Mayor Hon. Dexter M. Uy represented by Mr. Juniel Tagarino, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Samar Director Engr. Meilou C. Macabare, Peddlr.Ph CEO and Founder Mr. Nel Laygo, and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region 8 Director Mr. Felix S. Tabanao, Jr. graced the event as panel of evaluators of the competition.
Also present were Mr. Carlo Valencia, Ms. Teresa Enalisan II, and Engr. Raven Tabiongan who served as mentors of the startup entries.
Mr. Valencia, startup mentor, stated in his inspirational message the importance of not giving up.
“Imagine how far you will go if you continue years from now. Never stop the entrepreneurial journey that you already have started,” he said.
University President Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso agreed as she motivates faculty and students to ‘highlight their innovation and creative powers,’ a trait of a builder, innovator, and servant.
