CATBALOGAN CITY─ Samar State University (SSU) partners with State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) from Regions five (5), six (6), and eight (8) to champion Sustainable Development Goal 1 (No Poverty) as they ink a Memorandum of Agreement today, July 13 (22) via Zoom, for the conduct of the 3rd International and 6th National Conference on Poverty Alleviation and Sustainable Development (iPOVCON 2022).
Present in the ceremonial signing is the University of Eastern Philippines which will serve as SSU’s Co-Host this year. Also in full support are Partner Collaborators: Biliran Province State University, Eastern Samar State University, Eastern Visayas State University, Leyte Normal University, Northwest Samar State University, Palompon Institute of Technology, Saint Paul School of Professional Studies, Southern Leyte State University, and Visayas State University.
Adding to the SUCs and HEIs which share a common goal are Camarines Sur Polytechnic Colleges, Carlos Hilado Memorial State University, Central Philippines State University, and Northern Negros State College of Science and Technology.
Aiming to spark meaningful discourses that will capture human resiliency and management capabilities, showcase studies about poverty and sustainable development, and share the best practices of remarkable local government units, this year’s confab will be staged on September 21-23, 2022 under the theme, “Convergence of Borderless Opportunities to End Poverty” via social media platforms – Zoom Web Conferencing, Facebook, and YouTube Live with the conference tracks: 1) The Futures of Data, Science, and Technology Initiatives; (2) The Futures of Precision Agriculture & Fishery; (3) The Futures of Glocal Community; and (4) The Futures of Scientific Governance.
