SSU co-organizes first GIS Software Tech Confab in the Philippines

QUEZON CITY – Samar State University (SSU) through the Samar Island GIS and Data Analytics Center (SIGISDAC) co-organized the first GIS Software Technology Conference (GTC)-Onsite Session in the Philippines on July 7 (22).

Alongside SSU in spearheading the event were the University of the Philippines (UP), Department of Geodetic Engineering, Advanced Spatial Information System and Technology (ASIST) OPC, Caraga State University (CSU) – Department of Geodetic Engineering, SMARTGeo Surveying and Geomatics, National University (NU) – Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Geographic Innovations for Development Solutions, Inc., Visayas State University (VSU)-Department of Geodetic Engineering, Siccion Marketing Inc., and Geoplan Philippines Inc.

During the event, SSU-SIGISDAC Director Engr. Raven Tabiongan shared his initiative along the “Integration of SuperMap GIS in the Enhancement of GeoMap Samar Web App” and was later on awarded with a Certificate of Recognition.

Government leaders, authoritative academicians, and experts attended the conference where ‘elites’ from leading IT companies and executives from well-known companies in the region talked about the latest concepts in the industry, shared cutting-edge technologies, and discussed future development trends.
