MARABUT, SAMAR – Samar State University – Samar Island Center for Good and Local Governance (SSU-SICGLG) implemented its program titled “Enhancing Barangay-Based Institutions’ Capability for Improved Local Governance” in Marabut, Samar.
First among trainings conducted was the Computer Literacy Training-Workshop which was successfully organized on June 6-7 (22). Specifically, it aims to capacitate the barangay officials in crafting and keeping pertinent documents as part of barangay operations.
They sent two (2) representatives from each of the 25 barangays and the Local Government Unit staff served as participants of the training.
As evidenced by the pre-test and post-test results as well as the testimonies from the participants themselves, the two-day workshop proved beneficial and effective.
“The trainings helped us expedite our work while expecting efficient results. We really thank SSU for this,” said one of the participants.
To complete the training, the more than 50 participants also attended two more capacity building activities under the same program, the Writeshop on Technical Writing for Local Government Unit on June 8-9 (22) and the Leadership Training-Workshop on June 10-11 (22).
