CATBALOGAN CITY – The Bureau of Immigration (BI) granted authority to Samar State University (SSU) – Main Campus to accept foreign students through an order approved on May 30 (22) after ‘having substantially complied with accreditation requirements’.
Four (4) programs namely the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEED), and Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) will now be offered to foreign students.
The University started its filing of petition for authority to accept foreign students in 2021 and after successfully undertaking the accreditation process, SSU was granted the BI order.
Mr. Peter Cabrales, the International Students Coordinator, expressed his gratitude to all who made the ‘international milestone’ possible.

Lourdes Amante, Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Felisa Gomba, Vice President for Research and Extension Services Dr. Ronald Orale, and tons of thanks to University President Dr. Marilyn Cardoso—all for the strong and relentless support to see the realization of the BI Order granted,” he stated.
This internationalization milestone of the University is yet another goal achieved to widen the reach of innovating, building, and serving.
