SSU TBI-LAMBAT startup Peddlr hoists seed funding to US$4.3 M

CATBALOGAN CITY─ Peddlr, a startup of SSU Technology Business Incubator Local Alliance of Marine-Based Businesses and Food Technology (SSU TBI-LAMBAT) has successfully reached a seed funding of up to US$4.3 Million according to their site post on February 7, 20 (22).

The new financing round was co-led by Patamar Capital and Crestone Venture Capital. With participation from existing investors- Foxmont Capital Partners and Kaya Founders and new investors- January Capital, 500 Southeast Asia, Nordstar, Vulpes Ventures, KDV Capital, and 335 Fund.

A number of notable angel investors also participated in the round- Summit Media President, Lisa Gokongwei; Zalora Group CCO Giulio Xiloyannis; Zalora Group COO Rostin Javadi; Founder and CEO of Kippa Kennedy Ekezie-Joseph; Co-Founder Antler, Managing Partner Antler Asia, Jussi Salovaara; Partner-Antler Indonesia, Subir Lohani; Associate Partner- Antler Southeast Asia, Markus Bruderer, and XA Network- the leading tech leaders’ investment network in Southeast Asia. The group’s purpose is to foster inclusive innovation by empowering the tech community in Southeast Asia.

Peddlr is an “OS lite” mobile POS designed to help micro and small businesses manage inventory and simple bookkeeping. The app also comes with digital ledgers and a storefront helping these businesses sell over the internet (Peddlr.blog, 2022).

As one of the startups of the SSU TBI-LAMBAT, Peddlr was a recipient of the Catch and Release Program where they were given Product Development Support, Access to Event and Networking Opportunities, IP Protection Assistance, and Access to Business Experts for Advice.

Their team, headed by its founder Mr. Nel Laygo, is composed of empowered individuals including SSU’s very own Engineering graduates, Mr. Nelson Bathan, Jr. and Mr. Mel Francis Separa, who through this venture exemplified the University’s mantra: innovate, build, and serve.
