SSU says “See you some more” to Dr. Gonzales

CATBALOGAN CITY─ No “Goodbyes” but “See you some more” for Samar State University as Dr. Lydia A. Gonzales retires from office effective February 1 (22).

Dr. Gonzales has been a former Budget Officer and Chief Administrative Officer respectively before becoming the Vice President for Administration and Finance in 2018. With her 38 years of government service, she plans to spend time with her family upon retirement.

While in office and being the VP for Administration and Finance, Dr. Gonzales assumed the responsibility of ensuring effective and efficient management in its directorates through the Administrative Services, Human Resource Management and Development Services, Finance Services, Auxiliary Services, Infrastructure and Development Services, and General Services including administrative extension in the University’s external campus operations.

Known for her professionalism and ‘no delay’ principle, Dr. Gonzales was admired by many of SSU’s personnel.

“She wants to get things done without delay. Time for her is important,” stated Ms. Angelica Obregon, her secretary.

Recognizing her services to the University through a Despedida Party, the University President, Dr. Marilyn D. Cardoso, also expressed her wishes for Dr. Gonzales.

“I just wish you happiness and contentment, Dr. Gonzales. Have a light, peaceful, and enjoyable retirement!” she said.
